The ketogenic diet is monotonous

You probably think of Shakira's song when she says "it wasn't your fault or mine, it was the fault of monotony"?

Maybe she wasn't doing a very well-thought-out diet and it ended up being bored.


Ketone bodies are dangerous

FALSE

First of all, we must not confuse nutritional ketone bodies with keto-acidosis.

Like many things in life, it depends on the amounts.

Saying that ketone bodies are bad is like saying that water is bad.

Would 20 liters of water kill us? Probably yes, but that is not the reason to say that water is bad.


Is it better to activate lipolytic metabolism or glycolytic metabolism?

Extremes are almost always inadvisable. A balance would be best, but always leaning towards lipolytic metabolism.


The ketogenic diet is good for everyone

Like any diet or nutritional guideline, it must be adapted and individualized for each patient.


Here is a dish based on the ketogenic diet that is not boring, very nutritious and very healthy.




Courgette spaghetti with Bolognese sauce


Ingredients for 1

1 courgette (196 gr.)

1 glass of minced meat (113 gr.).

3 mushrooms (60 gr.)

1/2 onion (55 gr.)

1 glass of tinned tomato (or crushed tomato) (120 gr.)

1 tablespoon of dried oregano (1.8 gr.)

1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper (0.4 g.)

1/2 teaspoon of salt (3 g.)

2 tablespoons of olive oil (27 gr.)


Let's make the spaghetti:

1. Grate the courgette with a spiraliser (special grater for making vegetable spaghetti). Mix it with olive oil, salt and pepper. Set aside.

2. Chop the onion and slice the mushrooms.

3. Heat a large paella pan over medium-high heat and add a little olive oil. Add the onion, garlic and mushrooms and cook until soft.

4. Add the minced meat and cook until cooked.

5. Add the wine, crushed tomato, stock, oregano and pepper. Mix well.

6. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
